Emerald Key

Arma 3 · Persistent life roleplay

Nobody knows
your name until
you tell them

Everyone you meet is an alias and a face. Police have to work out who you are the hard way, the same as everyone else. What you carry can be taken, what you park stays where you left it, and the licence in your pocket was earned.

Built from scratch on a custom island. No Altis, no framework reskin.

KEY 4471 — last seen parked

An officer sees the alias. The legal name appears only if that person introduced themselves to that officer, or was formally identified. Being introduced to one of somebody’s characters tells you nothing about the others.

What an evening looks like

One night, one character

Nothing here is a scripted mission. This is just what the systems let people do to each other.

You clock on at the station. Being a police officer is a shift, not a slot — off duty you are a civilian like anyone else, and the armoury knows the difference.

A shop alarm. The suspect is masked, so the record is filed against a description, not a person. The charge follows the alias.

You stop a car with the right plate. The terminal gives you an alias and an outstanding charge — not a name. Getting that takes an actual conversation.

They run. Their cash is on them, so catching them matters; the bank balance is untouchable either way.

Booked in. Their car is still parked where they left it, doors locked, and it will be there tomorrow.

The rules that change how people behave

Five decisions you will feel

Identity

You are an alias until you say otherwise

Telling someone your real name is a gift you give. It cannot be taken off a nametag, a corpse, or a parked car.

Consequence

Cash is losable, banked money is not

Carrying a lot is a decision. That single rule is what makes robbery worth doing and worth preventing.

Continuity

Logging off is not dying

You come back where you left, with what you had. Your car comes back with you, on the same spot.

Access

Locks are obstacles, not ownership

A key can be lost, lifted or handed over. A stolen one still works — which is the point, and the risk.

Authority

Capable is permanent, authorised is not

Rank is yours. Powers are only yours while you are on duty, and an off-duty officer is just a person with training.

Interaction

You act on things, not on menus

One interaction wheel for the world. No chat commands to memorise, no scroll-menu soup.

Where the server actually is

We are in open development and we would rather tell you the truth than sell you a finished server that does not exist yet. Here is what runs today, what is being built this week, and what is queued behind it.

Running now Playable
  • Characters that persist — position, gear, money, inventory
  • Multiple characters per account, each with its own life and reputation
  • Aliases, introductions, and nametags that respect both
  • Police work: identification, wanted records, arrest and jail
  • Banking, ATMs, bank cards, and robbery worth the risk
  • Shops, a carried inventory with real weight, and a death briefcase
  • Emergency lights and sirens, and our own medical system
In the workshop This week
  • Owning vehicles: buying, plates, a garage, keys and locks
  • Keycards with tiers — and stolen ones that still open the door
  • Licences you can lose, with points that expire
Queued Next
  • Housing: a door of your own, storage, and somewhere to spawn
  • Jobs with actual work in them, not just a wage for clocking on
  • Lockpicking and hotwiring, so a locked car is a challenge not a wall
  • Phones, companies, and an island government worth running

Recruiting

Some of these are open right now

Early enough that the people who show up get to shape how their department works, rather than inherit someone else’s rules.

Police command

Write the procedure, set the standard, and decide what policing on this island looks like before anyone else does.

EMS & Fire leadership

A real medical system with downed states and treatment that takes time. It needs people who want to run a service, not just revive.

Staff & moderation

Judgement over rule-quoting. If you have run a community before and remember what made it good, we want to talk.

Come and break it with us

We test in the open. Bugs get found by people playing, and the fastest way in is to turn up while it is still small.
